Photo tour on Baikal lake

Frost, wind and waves create amazing ice splashes, turning coastal rocks and trees into bizarre ice sculptures. Floating ice floes create the feeling that you are in the Arctic. The itinerary includes top locations, taking into account the right time and good light. You don't have to be an experienced photographer to participate in the tour: it's enough to have a camera or even a mobile phone and enjoy a new level of your shots.
1 day
• 8:00-9:00 Meeting at Irkutsk airport.
• 9:00-14:30Transfer to the hotel on Lake Baikal. On the way we will stop at a restaurant for lunch.
• 15:00 Check-in at the hotel on Cape Uyuga.
• 15:00-17:00 Photo shooting of ice splashes at the spot close to hotel at sunset. You will see unusual ice sculptures.
• 19:00 Dinner at the hotel.
• 19:30 A short lecture on the specifics of shooting on Lake Baikal
2 day
• 8:00-10:00 Sunrise shooting at the cape Kurma. There is a small lake here, which has already frozen over by this time, so this is a good opportunity to photograph the new ice and aquatic plants inside.
• 10:30-11:00 Breakfast at the hotel.

• 13:30 Lunch at the hotel.
• 15:00-17:00 Sunset shooting at the cape Khadarta.
• 19:00 Dinner at the hotel.
3 day
• 7:00- Check out from the hotel and go to bubble lake on Olkhon island. We will cross the strait by ferry.
• 9:00-13:00 Sunrise shooting on the unique bubble lake. In my long-term experience, ice bubbles are most beautiful in December. We will have breakfast inside the car using lunch boxes.
• 14:00 Check in to hotel in Khuzir village on Olkhonsky island.
• 16:00-18:00 Sunset shooting at the Shamanka rock, which is a symbol of Lake Baikal
• 19:00 Dinner at the hotel. Lecture on photography
4 day
• 7:00-8:30 We will go by car to the northern part of the Olkhon island, Uzury Bay.
• 8:00-11:00 Shooting the sunrise. Shooting at the Cape Shunte and Khoboy.
• 11:00-11:30 We will have breakfast inside the car using lunch boxes.
• 11:30-15:00 Go back to the hotel and have lunch.
• 15:00-17:00 Sunset shooting on the lake shore near the village of Kharantsy.
• 18:30-19:00 Dinner at the hotel.
5 day
• 8:00-10:00 Go to the cape Yalga to capture beautiful icicles on cliffs.
• 10:30-11:30 Breakfast, check out from hotel.
• 12:30 We cross the Olkhon Gate Strait by ferry, then transfer to a large bus and drive to Irkutsk. We will make a stop on a restaurant on the way for lunch.
• 18:00 Arrival to Irkutsk airport

At this time, it is quite cold on Lake Baikal, and winds often blow. The air temperature can drop to -20. It is recommended to have:

FAQ:
1) Question: If I'm not a professional photographer, can I join this tour?
Answer: The tour program is designed for everyone – amateurs, beginners with any level of knowledge and skills in photography.

2) Question: I don't have a camera, just a phone.
Answer: Nowadays, it doesn't really matter how expensive your camera is. It is much more important now to be able to shoot correctly, which I will teach you in this photography course. Special attention will be paid to mobile photography.

3) Question: What is the best way to dress for a winter tour to Lake Baikal? I'm afraid of freezing.
Answer: See the list of recommended clothes. In any case, there will always be a warm transport nearby, where you can always keep warm.

4) Question: Is there an Internet connection?
